From 29th of Sepember to 1st of October 2017 The Jury of the Kazimierz Serocki 15th International Composers’ Competition 2017 took place in Radziejowice Palace near Warsaw.
149 scores were sent to the Competition from all over the world.
The Jury: Paweł Łukaszewski (Poland), Paul Patterson (United Kingdom) and Dariusz Przybylski (Poland) decided to give the following prizes:
The FIRST Prize (16.000 PLN) went to
SATOSHI OHMAE
(JAPAN) for “FANCY FIVE”
The SECOND Prize (10.000 PLN) went to
MANUEL MARTÍNEZ BURGOS
(SPAIN) for “INITIATIONS”
The THIRD Prize (5.000 PLN) went to
HYUNWOOK TAK
(SOUTH KOREA) for “UMBAU”
The prizes were funded by The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and The Authors’ Society ZAiKS and The Witold Lutosławski society.
PWM Edition’s Special Prize for the Youngest Winner – a set of Polish contemporary music scores – was awarded to HYUNWOOK TAK.
The CONCERT OF THE WINNERS co-organised with the Polish Radio Channel 2 will take place on the 10th of December 2017 in Lutoslawski Polish Radio Concert Hall in Warsaw. The Concert will be recorded and broadcast on the Polish Radio Channel 2 and then offered to be broadcasted on the European Radio Union.
